Shark Tank India to come on Sony TV to fuel Indian business dreams!

Aspiring entrepreneurs in India now have the ultimate avenue to make their entrepreneurial dreams come true. SonyLIV, the streaming arm of Sony Pictures India, and Sony TV are bringing the Indian edition of the popular American business reality show, Shark Tank. The show gives aspiring entrepreneurs a chance to bring their business ideas to reality. While Sony Pictures hasn’t divulged details on when Shark Tank India will start streaming on their platform, they have invited aspiring businessmen to send in their applications for a chance to be featured on the show.

Sony Pictures shared a video on their social media handles this afternoon, pitching the show to Indian viewers. Shark Tank comes to India almost 11 years after its US debut. The first ever episode of Shark Tank aired on 9th August 2009 on the ABC network on US television. The show is now in its 12th season in the US.

Shark Tank chooses the most promising aspiring businessmen to feature on the show. The entrepreneurs make business presentations before a panel of five investors or “sharks”. Based on the innovativeness, workability and feasibility, and commercial value of their ideas, the Sharks decide whether to invest in the companies of the applicants.

Over the years, prominent and successful entrepreneurs have played mentors, or rather “sharks”, on Shark Tank. Robert Herjavec and Kevin O’Leary, Mark Cuban, Steve Tisch, Richard Branson, John Paul DeJoria are some of the businessmen who appeared on the show as Sharks.
