Sony Sports Network to broadcast two bilateral series live with India tour of Ireland and India tour of England successively

From June 26, 2022, the Sony Sports Network will broadcast live two bilateral series with the Indian tour of Ireland and the Indian tour of England successively. The Indian team will return to Irish shores for two T20i games after their last run there in 2018.

It will be followed by the series starting with the 5e Test against their great rivals England followed by 3 T20I and 3 ODI from July 1, 2022. Both series will be broadcast live on Sony Six (English), Sony Ten 3 (Hindi) and Sony Ten 4 ( Tamil and Telugu). , as well as streamed live on its SonyLiv on-demand OTT platform.

Both series will mark a new era for Indian cricket with Rohit Sharma captaining the Indian team for the first time ever overseas, and Hardik Pandya heading the T20i team in Ireland. England also have a new captain in Ben Stokes who is currently leading his side in the series against New Zealand. The two new captains will meet in July to close the Test chapter which began last year under the leadership of Virat Kohli and Joe Root, with the series currently standing 2-1 in favor of India. Plenty to play for, the Indian side are eyeing a historic Test series victory in England, while Ben Stokes and his men need a win to draw 2-2.

Sony Sports Network has also announced a list of names that will be part of their commentary panel and will also feature on their live studio show Extraaa Innings across both series. The English and Hindi commentary panel will include David Gower, Graeme Swann, Virender Sehwag, Ashish Nehra, Ajit Agarkar, Mohammad Kaif, Ajay Jadeja, Sanjay Manjrekar, Saba Karim, Vivek Razdan as well as Nasser Hussain and Mike Atherton joining directly from land in England. The Tamil commentary box will feature WV Raman, Vidhyut Sivaramakrishnan, TR Arasu and R Sridhar, while the Telugu commentary will be presented by Venkatapathy Raju, Gnaneshwar Rao, C Venkatesh, Vijay Mahavadi and Sandeep Kumar. The list of presenters for both series includes Harsha Bhogle, Sanjana Ganesan, Matt Floyd and Arjun Pandit.

Additionally, the network will bring back its “School of Cricket” segment for young cricket fans across the country. Presenter and writer, Anubhav Jain will host the show with cricket experts.

The India tour of Ireland and England is part of Sony Sports Network’s ‘Non-stop cricket’ campaign. The campaign which spotlighted over 1,800 hours of international cricket action available on Sony Sports Network, features the unique duet of Indian women’s cricket team opening batsman Smriti Mandhana with actor Pankaj Tripathi. After the first campaign film, the network recently launched the second film for the upcoming India tour in England. The film shot in a Dhobi Ghat metaphorically involves the impending ‘Dhulai’ of the England cricket team in their home turf by Team India. Olt News
