Theatreplan introduces new AV and broadcast team
Theatreplan has added three new staff with audio, visual and broadcast expertise to its practice over the course of the year.
Production and broadcast specialist Kit Lerman joined in March as consultant and head of audio, visual and broadcast. Lerman spent more than five years organising live events and broadcasts as associate production manager for the Royal Opera House. He subsequently worked as head of production and delivery at the Serpentine Galleries in London, where he built and then expanded a new department that managed the exhibition and live-events programmes.
Consultant Ewan Munro was recruited in April, after a career in professional theatre. He was most recently head of sound on the & Juliet musical in London, Melbourne, and Broadway. Munro – who has a degree in audio engineering and is studying for a master’s in digital audio engineering – has also held roles as deputy head of sound at the Harold Pinter Theatre and associate sound designer for Jack and the Beanstalk at the London Palladium.
Jibril Muhammad joined the team as an intern in February, before being appointed junior consultant in August. Muhammad, who studied sound design technology and worked as a visiting lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire, previously worked as a music content creator or Lonesome Dog Studios. He has also acted as an audio engineer responsible for recording vocalists, DJs and performers.
Theatreplan’s executive director, Mathew Smethurst-Evans, said: “The new audio, visual and broadcast team brings a wide and interesting mix of work experiences and skills to Theatreplan and will help develop our expertise further in this field, opening-up new areas of work and further enriching current projects. The team is already making valuable and exciting contributions to the company and our projects.” AVInteractive
