TRAI extends deadline for comments on satellite spectrum allocation rules

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has extended the deadline for submitting comments on its recently released Consultation Paper titled “Terms and Conditions for the Assignment of Spectrum for Certain Satellite-Based Commercial Communication Services.”

Published on September 27, 2024, the paper seeks public and stakeholder input on the key issues concerning spectrum allocation for satellite-based communication services. The initial deadlines for submitting written comments and counter-comments were set for October 18 and October 25, 2024, respectively.

In response to requests from multiple stakeholders seeking additional time, TRAI has now extended these deadlines.

As per TRAI, written comments can be submitted until October 25, 2024, while the deadline for counter-comments has been moved to November 1, 2024.
