Tricolor expands Sony Pictures cooperation
Russia’s leading pay-TV operator Tricolor has signed a two-year contract with Sony Pictures Television (SPT).
Under the terms of the agreement, it has received the rights to show over 120 movies, some of which are in Ultra HD and will appear on its Kino UHD channel. The rights cover both satellite and OTT distribution.
Commenting on the development, Arsen Khomutov, Tricolor’s content director, said: “Tricolor pays great attention to the development and promotion of its own production channels. Thanks to the deal with SPT, the content on our channels has become even more diverse, and the TV channels themselves have become more competitive”.
John Rossiter, executive VP, Sony Pictures Television, Networks and Distribution, CEEMA, added: “We are pleased to expand our partnership with Tricolor. This deal includes a fantastic collection of the latest hits and favourite films from the SPT library, as well as television content that we are sure will appeal to viewers”. Broadband TV News
