Vi to bring future of connectivity to IMC 2023 with AirFiber

Vodafone Idea, one of India’s leading telecom operators, is set to make a splash at the upcoming India Mobile Congress (IMC). From October 27 to October 29, Vi will showcase its latest consumer use cases, including the highly anticipated ‘Vi AirFiber’ use case.

In an exciting development, Vi’s Vi AirFiber use case promises to revolutionize the concept of a smart home. By connecting all devices and enabling a high-speed 5G experience, Vi AirFiber aims to bring seamless connectivity and convenience to households across the country. This innovative offering could potentially mark Vi’s entry into the fixed wireless access (FWA) market.

While Vi is yet to launch its commercial 5G services, its competitors Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel have already made strides in the 5G space. Both telecom giants have completed their 5G deployments and launched their respective 5G fixed broadband services. Jio’s JioAirFiber and Airtel’s Xstream AirFiber have garnered significant attention from customers.

At the IMC, Vi will also showcase two captivating virtual reality (VR) gaming use cases in collaboration with iB Cricket and Yudiz Solutions. The VR Cricket experience will transport users to a virtual cricket stadium, allowing them to bat and immerse themselves in the game while live-streaming their gameplay on a large TV screen. On the other hand, VR Combat Shooting will provide players with adrenaline-pumping combat scenarios through the use of VR headsets and large TV screens.

In addition to gaming, Vi has partnered with Deloitte India to create a unique educational experience using extended reality (XR) technology. This collaboration will enable students to embark on an educational journey through the Indian Space Research Organisation’s history and the achievements of Rakesh Sharma, India’s first citizen in space.

Lastly, Vi will also showcase an immersive cloud gaming service in partnership with CareGame. This offering aims to provide gamers with a seamless and high-quality gaming experience in the cloud, eliminating the need for expensive hardware.

With its array of innovative use cases and strategic partnerships, Vi is poised to make a lasting impression at the India Mobile Congress. By showcasing the potential of 5G, virtual reality, extended reality, and cloud gaming, Vi is set to redefine the possibilities of connectivity and entertainment for consumers in India. ISP
