Vizrt Launches new PTZ cameras for the broadcast/AV market
Vizrt is launching the PTZ3 PLUS and PTZ3 UHD PLUS cameras to target the ProAV and broadcast markets.
According to the leader in real-time graphics and live production solutions, Vizrt, its PTZ3 PLUS range represents an effective video solution for live productions and presentations.
The cameras include AI-powered talent tracking, augmented reality (AR), HD/UHD quality, a 20-to-30-time zoom, and microphones with phantom power within a design that Vizrt believes can work in any space.
Liam Hayter, Product Manager at Vizrt, outlines some of the new feature additions to its latest cameras:
“AI presenter tracking keeps talent in shot automatically, phantom powered audio makes remote setups even easier, and the world’s first implementation of FreeD-over-NDI|HX embeds camera tracking metadata in every frame over NDI|HX, simplifying the setup of augmented reality and virtual reality setups like Viz Virtual Studio Go.”
PTZ3 PLUS Range
An ethernet cable provides a more efficient workflow for audio, video, power, tally, control, and FreeD camera tracking data over NDI|HX.
By using face and posture detection with AI-driven presenter tracking, speakers can be kept within the frame.
Tracking technologies carry on even when the presenter is not facing the camera head-on.
There is also an automatic 0.5 to ten-second reset period when the presenter exits the presentation area as the camera is trained to stay within the set due to edge limitation, thereby maintaining a “green screen effect”.
To setup camera tracking data for AR and XR system setups, the cameras embed the open FreeD tracking data protocolling the NDI|HX stream, bringing with it camera rotation, position, and lens data metadata.
Vizrt describes this as a “world-first” development that reduces the need for additional hardware and production complexity so that content creators can easily create high-quality content with top graphics systems like Viz Virtual Studio Go.
NewTek PTZ3 and PTZ3 UHD model owners can utilise FreeD-over-NDI|HX with a free firmware upgrade via Vizrt.com.
Phantom power to the mini XLR port allows all microphones and audio sources to add audio through the same NDI|HX stream without needing to connect an amplifier.
Two-step confirmation ensures that only the microphones are not accidentally powered, which helps to minimise setup complexity for AV deployments and remote production needs, with simpler workflow integration and less equipment.
The PTZ3 OLUS and PTZ3 UHD PLUS are now available to order via Vizrt or a selection of certified partners.
The Vizrt website explains the camera customisation options available to customers: “The PTZ3 PLUS and PTZ3 UHD PLUS cameras are available in black-and-white colourways, and both provide the same software functionality.
Vizrt has been creating workflows for storytelling in news, sports, broadcast, education, entertainment, live events, advertising, digital media, and video lives for the past 25 years. UC Today
